About Darrin and Keith

Darrin and Keith bring a vast array of life experiences as your hosts at Equinox Inn at Canyon Lake, your lodging destination in Texas Hill Country.

Darrin left the medical field to become a massage therapist and will continue her practice here at the inn. Past hobbies have included mountain and road biking, camping, marathons, and sprint distance triathlons, long-distance solo motorcycle rides, reading, cooking and listening to others’ stories. Darrin is also a two-time cancer survivor. Darrin continues to volunteer on the Texas Bed & Breakfast Association as the Hill Co Rep and Mentorship Chair.

More About Darrin & Keith

Keith grew up camping on the Guadalupe River years ago, so returning now just feels like coming home. With Keith’s background in computers and engineering, he has had the opportunity to travel around the world and has never met a stranger! Keith is an amateur astronomer, who was on the steering committee to bring the George Observatory to the Brazos Bend State Park. Keith has been an active volunteer with a number of city and civic organizations including the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America.

Darrin and Keith have a blended family of five children, their spouses, and twelve grandchildren! Needless to say, holidays can be entertaining around here!

As Darrin and Keith traveled, they would consider what they liked or would change about the place they were staying. One day Keith stumbled on an organization that was hosting a class on “So You Want to be An Innkeeper.”

After attending the class, they had the opportunity to inn sit a property while the owners vacationed. Over the next several years, Darrin and Keith had the opportunity to experience different sizes, styles, and personalities of B&Bs in Texas, while they refined their hosting skills and found the perfect place.

Guests of Equinox Inn at Canyon Lake will start their experience as they step onto the graceful porch that beckons with rocking chairs. When they enter the main doors, guests will be welcomed warmly as they begin to relax and unwind..The guests’ expectations include clean, well-appointed rooms with quality bed linens, towels, and amenities. Couple this with exceptional and personalized customer service, to foster a professional, yet friendly relationship, where guests feel appreciated and valued. After a restful nights’ sleep, they may begin the day with an artistically prepared breakfast or enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee on one of the decks overlooking the lake or garden, before embarking on the day’s adventures.

We truly enjoy being around people and the gift of service comes naturally to both of us. We know we have the energy and enthusiasm to grow this wonderful property to the next level while continuing the traditions of value and customer service for our many guests.

Living Green

Equinox Inn at Canyon Lake has always promoted the “green” way of living. Here are just the highlights we have been doing for some time now:

Recycle all recyclable materials, and take them to the recycle center on a weekly basis
Compost food scraps
Program outdoor lights on timers
Water our grounds using an aerobic waste water system that recycles ALL of Equinox Inn at Canyon Lake’s water
Run our dishwashers only when full
Use LED Lights where we can
Clean our glass tables & mirrors with micro-cloths instead of chemicals
Use a commercial steam machine to clean hard and soft surfaces instead of chemicals
